Lorde has returned with her new single Green Light from her upcoming second full-length album and follow-up to 2013’s triple-platinum Pure Heroine.
In 2013, a 16 year old Lorde quietly asserted herself with her full-length debut Pure Heroine which would go triple-platinum in the US, win two Grammy Awards, and spawn the record-breaking single Royals, and follow up Team.
The former cemented Lorde as the youngest solo artist and the only New Zealander to achieve #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 since 1987.
Time exalted her amongst the Most Influential Teenagers in the World, she landed on Forbes’s 30 Under 30 List, graced the cover of Rolling Stone and performed alongside Nirvana during the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
Thurston Moore have new anti gun anthem out
Cease Fire is the new stand-alone single by Thurston Moore. An anti-gun song, Cease Fire is a response to the current unchecked climate of violence that besets many parts of the world whether large scale in war, genocide and mass killings or individual senseless acts of bloodshed.
Thurston Moore says guns are designed to kill, and as non-violent human beings, are against the killing of any person or animal. “The song is also about the power of love, in all its freedom of choice. A power that no gun can extinguish as love will rule always. Melt down your guns and kiss your neighbour.”
Recorded in London last year (with bassist Deb Googe, guitarist James Sedwards and guest drummer Jem Doulton), Cease Fire is the very latest new studio material from Thurston Moore.
The Thurston Moore Group features Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth, Sun Kil Moon), Deb Googe (My Bloody Valentine, Primal Scream) and James Sedwards (N?ught, Chrome Hoof).
